Qualifications
 

The OSCM is one of the very first organisations to be awarded European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) quality awards as specified below. Academic courses are credit rated by Oxford Brookes University.

Certificate in Coach-Mentoring Practice to Improve Performance
EMCC Foundation (Level 4 - equivalent to NVQ 4)

Accredited at professional and practice levels.

This 6 month face-to-face programme is designed for managers and internal specialists who need to develop a level of competence and confidence to integrate coaching and mentoring skills and techniques as a major or sole part of their work role.

This certificate focuses more specifically on performance improvement, provides a foundation for progressing to the Diploma or higher levels of qualification, and may also be run as a tailored in-house programme.

Certificate in Work Place Mentoring Practice
EMCC Foundation (Level 4 - equivalent to NVQ 4)

Accredited at professional and practice levels.

This 6 month programme is designed for internal mentoring specialists who wish to develop and extend their knowledge and skills in the context of one-to-one mentoring.

The certificate focuses on helping others take responsibility and control of their own learning in order to achieve their potential, provides a foundation for progressing to the diploma or higher levels of qualification and is usually run as a tailored in-house programme.

Diploma in Professional Coaching and Mentoring
EMCC Intermediate (Level 5 - equivalent to undergraduate degree / NVQ 5)

Accredited at academic, professional and practice levels.

This 7 month programme builds on the Foundation level and is designed to enable specialists within an organisation, senior managers or independent professional coach-mentors to work with middle and senior management to develop as leaders.

The diploma covering both academic and practice requirements will equip graduates with specific abilities in the areas of: individual leadership style, change cycle, work life balance, performance improvement, managing workload and time, motivation, simple diagnostics and learning development.

Diploma in Professional Coach-Mentoring Practice
EMCC Intermediate (Level 5 - equivalent to undergraduate degree / NVQ 5)

Accredited at professional and practice levels.

This 7 month programme is similar to the Diploma in Professional Coaching and Mentoring but puts emphasis on meeting professional and practice standards rather than academic criteria.

Advanced Diploma in Professional Coaching and Mentoring -
EMCC Practitioner (Level 7 - equivalent to Postgraduate Certificate)

Accredited at academic, professional and practice levels.

This 10 month programme builds on the Intermediate level of coaching and mentoring and includes levels of knowledge and practical experience to enable coach-mentors to work with senior management and boards.

The Advanced Diploma in Professional Coaching and Mentoring will equip graduates with the ability to offer support in personal and team leadership, team coaching and developing a coaching culture.

Advanced Diploma in Professional Coach-Mentoring Practice
EMCC Practitioner (Level 7 - equivalent to Postgraduate Certificate)

Accredited at professional and practice levels only.

This 10 month programme is similar to the Advanced Diploma in Professional Coaching and Mentoring but with the emphasis on meeting professional and practice standards rather than academic criteria.

Advanced Professional Practice in Coaching and Mentoring (Senior Management Leadership)
Accredited at professional and practice levels.

This 7 to 10 month individually tailored programme, delivered by ex senior managers, is designed for senior executives and/or experienced and qualified professionals who wish to become qualified coach-mentors to operate at senior management and board level.

The Advanced Professional Practice Award in Coaching and Mentoring will enable graduates to work with boards and in particular chief executives and managing directors. Graduates will be able to lead peer supervision groups.

Advanced programmes are more suitable for experienced professionals and / or development specialists who wish to extend their knowledge, skills and techniques to meet best practice standards.

Diploma programmes are more suitable for those wishing to begin their development as professionals and / or development specialists.

Advanced and Diploma programmes accredited solely at professional and practice levels by EMCC / OSCM do not require candidates to meet the rigorous academic criteria required by Oxford Brookes University by submitting a final assignment but in all other respects are identical.
